As we kick this new website off in the Christmas season, we wanted to share a blog we wrote on our business website. So here is a throwback to December 2019, when Lou was doing Homeschool Pre-k and we did A LOT of activities that focused on following directions (and usually ended with a tasty treat as the payoff)! Hope you enjoy...
Grinch treats... and a not so working Wednesday Blog
So… Yes, this is another rice crispy treat blog! BUT…it is the last week of school before winter break for me and my older girls and the stress level is super high with finals, midterms, etc. (accounting class is stupid hard!! So many tears and even a few bad words have been shed!) Lou and I also attempted a craft this weekend that was an epic fail. Soooo- instead of doing the traditional “working Wednesday blog” we are just sharing a few pictures and her commentary from making us a treat to enjoy while doing homework last night!) but not going to be as detailed as I normally would. Lou will do the commentary and I will clarify or add some details in (parenthesis and green).
My Nanny (mother-in-law) bought the Grinning Grinch Crispy Rice Treat Kit.
It comes with everything you need, but first you have to wash your hands!!
Well first we put the marshmallows in, we put the green powder, and the butter on the bottom and then we boil it until it is all green and slimly.
(First time I attempted making this with Lou on the stove, and it went really well!)
(I mixed the rice crispy cereal into the green slime/ marshmallow mix
until it was completely mixed together and ready to shape into the Grinch).
We spray our hands (with cooking spray). Then we took the crispies and smooshed it into the Grinch cutter and pushed it until it fit. then you flip it (over) and push it out! (The box said makes 6, but we managed to make 8!)
We putted on the eyes (with the white icing). Then with the black icing we put on his face. (I drew one of the faces to show her and she did the rest! I was pretty impressed with her icing skills!). Then I ated the Grinch!
(she got to "test taste" one before the sisters got home from school).
Hope ya'll enjoyed all that sweetness! It was some good quality time with her around all the stress of the week! Anywhose.... I promise once I survive accounting class, I will do more exciting Working Wednesday blogs (and no more rice crispy blogs!!!) But wanted to share something, and this was just too sweet! Next week there will be no working Wednesday blog, but we will share our "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas blog" and maybe a mini blog about our favorite elves, Billy Williams and Diddles so we can share some of their shenanigans from this month.
*************************************************************************************************
Hope ya'll enjoyed this throwback... I can say even though I "promised" then I am not sure that there will not be more rice crispy blogs, but I will put effort into making sure they are spread out! ;)
As always, Thanks for being part of our Crazy, especially this holiday season! Until Next time...
