Lou has been BEGGING for a fish for a while. Even though we didn’t really want another pet, we told her that she could earn the money she could get one. Lou has been “working” for the neighbor, helping him feed his coy fish in his pond for some time now. She saved the money she earned, and now she finally had enough.
We took her to the pet store, where she found the perfect little neon betta fish that she named Bubbles. She got fish food, a tank, rocks, some leaves, a volcano bubbler, and things for her to hide inside. She picked this tank because it has an adjustable light to help her fish “glow.”
We set the tank up and let the filter run the water through it for over an hour. Then we allowed bubbles to float in the water to help her adjust to the water temperature. We released her into the water and watched her explore. She also added a few flakes incases she was hungry.
I am so proud of how Lou has taken care of her new fish and how she worked hard to earn what she wanted. She has continued to take impeccable care of her fish. As a mother, I always worry that once the new wears off, it will be left for me to take care of, as many of our other creepy crawlies has, but she has genuinely surprised me with how she has consistently taken care of the fish over the last few weeks.
Thanks for being part of our cRaZy! Until next time.....
