I always try to do a photoshoot around each of my kid's birthdays that show off who they are at that time. This is a tradition I have been able to do with Lou (more than with the other 3), and she always seems to look forward to it the most. This year Lou is all about JoJo Siwa, so we did a JoJo-inspired shoot.
First, we needed to get the makeup look. ALL of Lou's sisters had afterschool obligations, which left her and me to figure it out by ourselves, but I think we did a pretty good job considering. My most extensive advice is a very pigmented, rainbow-colored pallet and eye primer if you attempt this. Also, don't assume someone still has eye glitter in their make stash; confirm before starting our you will have to just proceed without it (oops)!
Even though I was not getting my picture taken, Lou did my eye shadow too.
She did one eye with a fire eye look and the other with a cotton candy look. I think she did a fantastic job. She may just grow up to be a makeup artist!
It was raining on the only day we had free to do the makeup and photos, so we compromised and set the backdrop up in my bedroom. In hindsight, I think I am happier with the final photos more now than I would have been if we could do them outside!
Lou had a lot of fun coming up with her poses and even decided to show off her new skills from tumbling class! We had so much fun doing this and hope we keep up this tradition for many years to come.
